The One-Page Strategic Plan for Scaling Businesses
Get your leadership team working from the same page
A private working session for founders, CEOs and leadership teams who need clearer priorities, cleaner accountability and one shared direction.
Friday 16th October
The Grand Hotel, 1 Church St, Birmingham, B3 2FE
Private in-person working session
Growth creates complexity with more people, more meetings, more priorities, more decisions, and more moving parts.
You might not feel that you are getting more from all that complexity, and at some point, the business that once felt fast and focused starts to feel heavier to run. Not because the opportunity has disappeared, market conditions or the team has stopped caring.
Usually, it’s because the business has outgrown the way it currently makes decisions, sets priorities and holds people accountable.
This private working session is designed for founders, CEOs and senior leaders of established, scaling businesses who want to dominate the market by living the behaviours of the most successful businesses and bringing the leadership team back onto one page anchored around the One-Page Strategic Plan, A Keystone of the Scaling Up Framework that's trusted by over 80,000 scaling businesses worldwide.

Why work through this with Kevin Riley?
This session is led by Kevin Riley, 4-time founder, former owner of a £20 million business, Certified Scaling Up Coach and award-winning Business Growth Specialist.
Kevin works directly with founders, CEOs and leadership teams where growth has created more complexity than the business can comfortably manage.
- The founder is still too central.
- The leadership team are busy, but not always aligned.
- Accountability has become polite, vague or split across too many people.
- Priorities keep changing.
- Decisions take too long.
- The business is growing, but it feels heavier than it should.
Kevin has implemented the Scaling Up framework with businesses in the UK and internationally, enabling leadership teams to create clearer structure, better accountability and a stronger rhythm for execution.
Kevin rejects theory for practical applications for businesses that already have momentum and now need the discipline to scale with more control.

Why this session exists
When a business scales, the founder often becomes the operating system.
They hold the context, remember the decisions, join the dots, chase the priorities and carry the urgency.
Your team may be busy. Your meetings may be full. Your plans may look sensible on paper. But if everyone is interpreting the direction differently, execution starts to drift.
This session is built to address that.
We’ll work through the practical disciplines that enable scaling businesses to create clarity, accountability and rhythm across the leadership team and below.
The aim is to leave clearer on what matters next, who owns what, and where your business is currently losing focus.
What we’ll work through
The day is structured around the core parts of the Scaling Up Framework, with the One-Page Strategic Plan bringing everything together.
We’ll move quickly enough to create momentum, but slowly enough to apply the thinking properly to your business.
Rockefeller Habits
The execution rhythms that keep growing businesses focused.
We’ll look at priorities, meeting cadence, accountability and the habits that stop important work being buried under the urgent noise of the week.
This is where many scaling businesses start to see the gap between being busy and being genuinely aligned.
Functional Accountability Chart (FACe)
Who owns what in the business.
Not job titles or vague responsibility but Actual ownership.
As businesses grow, accountability often gets split across several people. That creates confusion, duplication and polite avoidance.
We’ll explore where ownership is clear, where it is missing, and where the founder is still carrying responsibility that should sit elsewhere.
Process Accountability Chart (PACe)
Every business has a handful of core processes that make it work.
Sales. Delivery. Customer experience. Recruitment. Finance. Operations.
When these processes are unclear, performance becomes dependent on individuals rather than systems.
We’ll look at where key processes are currently creating drag and how ownership needs to be made clearer.
Vision and values
Vision and values only matter if they influence decisions and behaviour.
We’ll look at whether your leadership team has a shared view of where the business is going, what you stand for, and how those principles are being used day to day.
Not just written down somewhere.
Actually used.
The One-Page Strategic Plan
The One-Page Strategic Plan brings the thinking together.
It gives your leadership team one clear view of direction, priorities, accountability and execution.
The value is not in filling out a page.
The value is in the conversations and decisions required to make that page useful.
What you’ll leave with
This is not about “learning more”.
You’re already scaling. The question is whether the business has the clarity, accountability and rhythm to keep scaling without becoming harder to run.
You’ll leave with:
- clearer priorities for the next stage of growth
- stronger visibility on what is slowing execution
- a better understanding of where accountability is weak
- practical insight into how the Scaling Up tools fit together
- decisions made that may have been hanging around for too long
- a clearer view of what belongs on your One-Page Strategic Plan
- the foundations to complete or optimise your plan with your leadership team
This is a working session, not a lecture.
You’ll be expected to think, contribute and apply the ideas to your own business.
Get clarity before you commit.
Register your interest and Sue will arrange a short call to answer your questions and point you towards anything useful before the session.
Who this Scaling Session is for
This session is designed for established, scaling businesses.
It is a good fit if:
- You are a founder, CEO or senior leader in a growing business
- Your business has moved beyond the early survival stage
- You have managers or a leadership team in place
- The business is growing, but it feels harder to control
- Priorities and accountability are not as clear as they need to be
- Too many decisions still come back to the founder
- Your teams are busy, but not always pulling in the same direction
- You want a practical way to create clarity across the business
This session is particularly relevant for businesses scaling between around £3 million to £20 million and beyond in revenue, where growth has created more complexity, more people and more pressure on an existing leadership structure.
Who this Scaling Up a business session is not for
This day is not suitable if:
- You do not yet have managers or a leadership team
- The business is still in survival mode
- You are looking for general inspiration rather than practical clarity
- You want to observe rather than engage
- You are not ready to have honest conversations about accountability, priorities and execution
We keep the group intentionally small to best allow collaboration and engagement. Don't be disheartened; we run many events tailored specifically for this growth stage too, so please get in touch.

Clearer on your priorities.

Clearer on what is slowing execution.
Clearer on how your leadership team can work from one page.
If that clarity is not there by the end of the session, we will stay with you until it is.
